Discrimination is still a playing factor at the moment. However, after all these years of African slavery, discrimination has came a long way and it is definitely walking towards a much more positive and brighter path. There are still slaves and servants. Nonetheless, there is a difference now. This difference might have been the turning factor that guided our nation towards the slavery abolishment. “Slaves are the Negroes, and their Posterity… They are call’d Slaves. In respect of the time of their servitude, because it is for life. Servants, are those which serve only for a few years, according to the time of their indenture… The male-servants, and slaves of both sexes, are imployed together in tilling and manuring the ground, in sowing and planting Tobacco… some distinction indeed is made between them in their cloaths and food; but the work of both is no other than what the overseers, the freemen, and the planters themselves do.” (“Evolution of Slavery Documents” 91). Early 1700s and the discrimination amongst the African slavery community has diminished quite a bit from the early stages of slavery. This just comes to indicate for its self how greatly American slavery made an impact on the creation of our nation in a sense. Clearly the events taken place during that time period were not necessarily great, yet, it is responsible for paving for us as a nation to take the steps towards where we are
