There are differences which could be noted by an observant traveler from Han’s dynasty if he visited the Indian and the Greco-Roman world during that era. The Chinese social system was different from that of India’s in that the Chinese elevated political officials while Indian policy gave priority to the religious status and ritual purity. The significant difference between the Chinese and the Greco- Roman world was the role of slaves in the two economies, while in the Chinese dynasty slaves were not popular, in the Greco-Roman empire, slaves played a crucial role in the prosperity of the kingdom.
