When working with young children there are many things that adults need to be aware of in order to keep the child safe. When taking care of infants, the toys need to be cleaned so that the germs of one baby does not transfer to another baby. The toys should be cleaned about every day if it is placed in a child's mouth, especially if the child is sick. Adults should check for any small objects around that a infant could possibly fit into their mouth. A smoke detector should be in a working order for so that the child can be kept safe in case of a fire and the smoke detector will keep the parents aware. The smoke detector should be no older than ten years. Cribs should have a tight fitting mattress and a secure fitting sheet. If an adult sees that it is getting old, it should be replaced with a new …show more content…
To keep them safe the outlets should be covered at all times. Their toys should be cleaned to prevent many germs from spreading when they are used. Medications and cleaning products should be kept in a place where they can not get into them all of the times. The smoke detectors in their house should be kept with working batteries in case of a fire. Whenever their hands are dirty or before they eat they should be washing them well with soap. Adults should have a first aid kit around incase of a small injury for the child whenever it is needed.
School aged children should have smoke detectors in their house so they are aware of any danger they are in concerning fires. They need first aid kits so if they get a small cut they can put a bandaid on them. School aged children should wash their hands thoroughly with soap so their hands can be clean whenever they are dirty or before they eat.
