The power that the indigenous people have against the white people is incomparable. This is shown where victor and Thomas were getting back to their seats on the bus but two white men had already taken their seats, and told them to go to the very back of the bus where their seats are.
Family issues- as shown throughout the movie there are several family abuses and issues especially in Victor’s family, since Thomas’s family died. Victor’s family is only happy when they are drunk, but in reality they are really depressed and done with life. They try to escape their problems and have fun by getting drunk. There are many fights that happen in Victor’s family. For example when victors dad left victor felt his sadness building up and turning to anger, which caused him to beat Thomas and run off. This is shown where in the movie victor tells Thomas that “a man is nothing with his hair.” Also after the fire victors father cut his hair off because he feels guilty for causing that fire, killing Thomas’s parents and almost Thomas, and so for the catastrophe that he caused he cut his hair off.
