According to the Centers for Disease Control, in 2010 about 72,000 people were over the age of 100, making these centenarians some of the most exposed and enduring in the entire population. Unlike this portion of the population who has lived through both time periods, understanding both times proves difficult. Over the course of the 100 years between 1910 and 2010 many changes in American ideology has taken place, especially between social, political, and economic situations. However, the similarities between these two time periods are uncanny, proving that history repeats itself.
