The next part in the film that shock me was the theory of Social Darwinism used by the British Empire to expand the nation’s power. Social Darwinism ideas revolves around the concept that life progresses by natural selection or the survival of the fittest. In history, war has always been a part of the human race, with the superior surviving and the inferior dying. In the film it was stated that, “Social Darwinism fueled imperialism by making these imperialistic nations exploited other nations cultures and the extermination of the weaker races on earth.” (A Fatal Impact, 2008) The British Empire committed genocide and used Social Darwinism justified the extermination of indigenous people who were deemed inferior to the imperialistic society.
