Having high hopes for oneself to become a social worker requires a vast amount of hard work and dedication. The most rewarding thing about this particular career choice in social work involves finding a safe home for foster children or reuniting them with their birth parents. In this field of study social workers have to advise and counsel the children, the parents, or sometimes both. The base of social work starts with psychology and understanding why people do what they do. One of the basic entry level qualifications is having a bachelor’s degree in social work, but even majors in psychology or sociology may qualify for some small community social working jobs.
