Drill 1 - Pivot-Rotation
Purpose: To develop proper hip rotation while pivoting on your back foot and remaining balanced.
Procedure: Put your bat behind your back and lock your arms around the bat. Assume your normal stance and pop your hips quickly, rotating your trunk while pivoting on your back foot. After you rotate, remain balanced and don't move either foot.

Purpose: To develop a smooth, compact swing.

Procedure: Set up in an area that has a screened net or a batting tunnel, like a garage, basement, or yard. Set up in a hitting stance in front of the net or tunnel, with a partner kneeling about 10 feet away, just off your front knee. The feeder triggers your cocking action by dropping her hand just before flipping the ball. Time a short, compact swing, hitting the ball to the appropriate field, depending on where the feeder flips it.
Drill 4 - Tracking the Softball
Purpose: To focus on the softball and visually track the ball from the mound to the plate.
Procedure: Assume your stance at the plate and trigger. Look in the area where the pitcher is going to release the ball. Stride and focus on the ball coming out of the pitcher's hands. Watch the ball all the way into the catcher's mitt or net.
Drill 5 - Double-Tee Swing-Down Drill
Purpose: To develop a short, downward swing and avoid an upper-cut swing.
Procedure: Position the stands right behind each other on the double tee and place a baseball on each. Take your stance beside the double tee, ready to hit a ball back up the middle. Trigger, stride, swing, and hit the baseball in front, avoiding the ball behind
