During Act one, Macbeth comes across a group of witches who tell him future predictions about his life. MacBeth’s assumes that the prediction the witches give him will ultimately come true, however Macbeth isn’t one to wait for what he wants. He becomes so consumed with the idea of the predictions that he takes matters into his own hands and starts his plan to kill King Duncan. When it was all said and done, MacBeth could’ve let fate step in and make the predictions happen, but instead he was so focused on what the witches told him, that he believed it was his role to kill King Duncan and make the first prediction come true. The song I chose for the first act symbolizes MacBeth’s relentless determination to get what he wants. He has defeated Norway and his rival MacDonwald. The king expresses his gratitude towards MacBeth by giving him the title of Thane of Cawdor. He, along with the rest of the country, believe that MacBeth is a nobel superhero who just saved the country during battle. Of course MacBeth is very pleased to hear just how much people are cheering for him which boosts his ego and has him feeling amazing.
