There are many boys and girls who want to be just like their role model’s because when a person looks up to someone they admire what they do for a living and dream of being just like them. Sonia Sotomayor, a girl who suffered with diabetes at the age of seven, dreamed of being a lawyer just like her role models Nancy Drew Book and Perry Mason. Even though she had her troubles, she still followed her dream of becoming the first Hispanic woman to be a lawyer and inspired many little girls to have similar troubles just like she did. As Sonia gets older and her dreams get bigger like any other person, she admires someone. It was a woman in her book called Nancy Drew who solves crimes and catches bad guys. She loved that character and from one book she was inspired to maybe one day she will do the same thing when she grows up. She also had another role model she admired, and that was Perry Mason, a person on a TV show Soina watched when she was young. Perry Mason also fought crime too, she admired them for what they do, so Soina was determined to have a big career fighting crime just like her role models. Soina had another dream and that was to be enrolled into “princeton university”, but it was hard for her to be a student in the university because she couldn't be able to join the university because Sonia had no money but she never gave up she tried her hardest and got a full scholarship which meant she was able to join without paying, another reason it was difficult for her to be able to be in Princeton university was because since she was hispanic and barley any hispanic people can be enrolled into a university like that so it was hard for her to was hard for her and only the white people got to go, but she was able to be at Princeton University with “Affirmative Action,” “a program that helps minorities get ahead in school and find work”
