A sonographer is a medical professional that works with vibrations or sounds that have an above human hearing frequency to produce dynamic visual images of patient’s soft tissue organs with the purpose of medical diagnosis (“Ultrasound,” 2015). Many sonographers work in a low-light room within a healthcare setting, usually a hospital, but also a physician’s office, medical and diagnostic laboratories and outpatient care providers. A Sonographer’s abilities range from technical skills to people skills to physical strength. Technical skills include correct and efficient operation of equipment to get usable images – using hand-eye coordination to move the transducer in correspondence to the screen images (Layne).
