Space exploration has been a controversial topic because of the tragedies that have happened in space. Lots of people want space exploration to continue, but lots of people also want it to be stopped because of how dangerous it can be. Overall, space exploration has brought a lot of trouble to the regular world, which is just not needed. Space exploration should be stopped because of the risks of space colonization and because of the numerous deaths that have happened from space exploration. In the past few years, the world has been trying to colonize space, without realizing how dangerous it can really be. For example, "three types of risks that are created by space colonization: Prioritization risks, aberration risks, and conflict risks" …show more content…
Space exploration is really not worth it when it can cause very violent conflict between people. Not only is space colonization/exploration not needed because of all the conflicts that are caused by it, overall it is dangerous to the world, when the world does not need it. There is already conflict in the world, space exploration will just expand that conflict even more, risking the lives of many humans. While I can see why some people would want space exploration to continue. Like here, "'I don't think the human race will survive the next thousand years, unless we spread to space"' (Source D). While this is a valid point to be worried about for future generations, however, is it worth all the violence that will be committed in order to go to space? Also, the world doesn't even know if space is safe or not to house people. There are so many unknown things out there in space nobody knows, making it extremely unsafe. The world needs to look out for future generations, but first, it's important to look out for themselves so they can be safe. If the world today is not safe, how will the future generations be safe? That's why space colonization/exploration is simply not worth the risks that come with …show more content…
thought it would happen again 71%" (Source E). People have died because of space exploration, and many people think it will happen again, approximately 71% of people think that. Most people seem to know that people are dying because of space exploration, and how dangerous/terrifying it is becoming. Here is a quote showing the danger taking place, "disaster yesterday in which seven astronauts were killed" (Source E). People are dying because of NASA. NASA wants to keep going with space exploration when it's not worth the lives of innocent people. Another quote shows that "dollar amounts in millions. . NASA actual budget is 14,801. . . Department of Homeland Security. The actual budget is 532" (Source C). The Nasa budget is significantly higher than Homeland Security, which is very unfair to Homeland Security. Especially considering that homeland security is there to help people be safe. More people are in danger every time the budget cuts, and ends up going to NASA. Space exploration is taking over not for the better and needs to be stopped before more people end up getting hurt. The unknown information of space has not stopped people from trying to colonize the place. The deaths or people have not stopped people from furthering space
