Purpose
The purpose of this lab is to provide what would happen if a species were separated. I will also explain what a speciation is? The purpose in this Lab is to answer the question of: What would happen if a species of lizard were suddenly split into 2 groups by a hurricane resulting in the isolation of a small group of individuals on an island far from the mainland?

Introduction Speciation: “the formation of new and distinct species in the course of evolution. Speciation involves the splitting of a single evolutionary lineage into two or more genetically independent lineages” In my own words, speciation is when a path of progression of new or distinct species that is produced through two or more blood lines.
Hypothesis/Predicted Outcome If a species of lizard were suddenly split into two groups by a hurricane resulting in the isolation of a small group of individuals, I believe the small group of species would produce new species with the

Mice can produce fertile and viable offspring under natural conditions because they are from the same species. However, as an example in Muse bears and mice are unable to interbreed because they are of two different species. The natural barriers of different climates will cause the differentials adaptive to the new species. The initial isolation is some of the species moving into a new area secluded from the other area. The next steps that occur are divergence, which means the population that occurred within the isolation begins to diverge due to the genetic drift and natural selection. The process of the last step is speciation, which is due to the isolation which causes species to reproduce within the habitant to create new species with different characteristics. Causes of speciation and the process of this cycle occurring is natural disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes and
