The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Scope of Practice is a model used for training, and supervision of speech-language pathology assistants. SLPAs sue as tasks are directed by ASHA-certified speech-language pathologists. SLPAs can be used to improve availability, frequency, and efficiency of services. This scope of practice defines what is within and outside the scope of responsibilities for SLPAs, including, the criterion for education, responsibilities, and information concerning the ethical and liability of the supervising SLPs. The minimum requirements to be a certified SLPA is to have the academic study equivalent to an associate’s degree in a SLPA program or a bachelor’s degree in a SLP or communication disorders program. Also,
