This paper will focus on the impact of spiritual discernment and how it has something to do with vocational career decision making. The importance of spiritual discernment will play important in not only myself as a counselor but other counselors as well due to the influence of decision-making factors and god’s will. Due to the subject of spiritual discernment in counseling, the article titled “Discerning Spiritual Discernment: Assessing Current Approaches for Understanding God’s Gift” will be used along with other research articles to guide the paper as well. In the paper, I will talk about which decision-making factors are important to me when I’m making career decisions. It also goes on to talk about how spiritual discernment plays a part in kids lives when it comes to making choices aligning with god’s will or purpose for their future. This doesn’t come as a surprise to me because when I was in high school, I faced challenges on what career choice I wanted to do. There were so many questions that I had ask myself during that time such as “how god would feel if I choose to pursue this career” or “what my family would think if I choose to pursue this career”. I believe that god put us on earth for a reason, and one of those reasons were to fulfill our purpose. Everyone has their own talent that they love doing, and I believe that everyone should pursue that talent because it was god’s will that provided us with that talent. As a counselor, it’s important that I guide students through the use of spiritual discernment by letting them how important it is for them to fulfill their purpose by not letting anything or anybody getting in the way of their
