The nurse recruiting strategy used by the hospital is currently reaching out in every way possible, they are recruiting through mailing, referrals, Newspaper ads, journal ads, and through both public and private agencies to connect with as many people as possible. The most effective strategies revealed to be direct applications, and universities/newspaper ads. Some things could be added and tried in hopes for a better success rate such as Telephone conferences with people in high schools or having an open line on a website could lead to more of a fluctuation of eager nurses ready to employ at St. Vincent’s. With there being so many different sources of recruitment, there isn’t much room to specialize on a few fields that work, a personal suggestion would be to focus on three of the most effective techniques and master them before branching out to the other methods of recruitment, as well as some of the private agencies and other less productive sources. I would discontinue everything except for direct applications, any of the ads, and educational institutions (excluding the new methods such as social media or phone calls.) This is because direct applications have led to the highest outcome of applications and potentially qualified personnel. With the non-successful recruiting techniques out of the way there will be more funding available for the best methods, thus resulting in a greater chance of turnout in the techniques
