A 24-year old man came into the Emergency room with fever, chills, diarrhea and an altered mental state at. The patient has a history of Diabetes Mellitus. The patient came to the clinic a month earlier with a pussy abscess with a crusted perimeter located on her arm. The patient babysits children and one of the children had a mild case of impetigo, and she was infected when she was giving the child their regular care or possibly a toy according to the patient. The patient was treated with antibiotics for thirteen days and the infection subsided. The patient’s lab values were a temperature of 103 F, Blood Pressure: 80/60 60 mm Hg, and RR 30. The patient was diagnosed by a blood culture that was obtained which revealed that the patient was in septic shock. The patient was not given the proper antibiotics on her last visit and the Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria manifested itself once again because of her improper treatment of the patient’s impetigo. The patient was admitted to the hospital and was properly treated with tigecycline and was dispatched after two weeks.
