Star Wars Affecting Today's Culture

Who would have thought that in 1977, Star Wars still would be impacting today’s culture. I was greatly influenced by Star Wars because of my uncle whom became an expert of the entire franchise. My uncle first brought Star Wars into my life when I was around the age of six. After doing so, my interests grew to becoming an all time fan. I purchased every movie, all of the DVDs regarding to the TV series Star Wars The Clone Wars, many original action figures, clothing, accessories, games and costumes. Furthermore, I have almost completely memorized all the dialogue in the movies. Of all the elements in Star Wars, the clone troopers impacted me the most because of their honor and their supreme devotion towards the Republic. Most people believe that volunteering for the military is a well- respected duty. The Republic created the clones to form an army in response to the impending galactic threats. Even though many Republic citizens perceived them as a lesser form of life because they were copies of another person, the clones were still human beings that chose to serve the Republic. There had been many incidents where the clones voluntarily sacrificed themselves for others or for the greater good. For example, the clone trooper, Heavy, had to detonate his scout station along with himself to prevent an invasion of the clones’ home world, Kamino. Succeeding with the plan, the Republic was notified of the incoming invasion, and was able to stop it. Another example would be Arc Trooper Fives where he learned about Chancellor Palpatine’s plan of Order Sixty Six the order where the clones eliminate the Jedi. After an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate Palpatine, Fives fled to find the Jedi in time. Unfortunately, Palpatine’s personal clone troopers found and killed him.
