I spent my childhood growing up around my family business-Christman Amusements. My parents have ran this business for fifty years and my sister and I plan to eventually take it over. Being around amusement rides has influenced me to create a carousel horse out of stained glass. Art is important for me I can express me ideas and thoughts without words. I enjoy working with stained glass because it looks delicate yet sturdy. I choose colors that represent the carnival, blue, green, and purple. To create this stain glass I used the copper foil method. After soldering was complete I applied a copper patina and a frame or come. Bailey Christman

My name is Josie Overbeck. I used acrylic paint on weathered wood to create this piece. After finding the piece of wood in my backyard, I really liked the texture of the peeling paint. I cleaned it up and stored if for a future project. I enjoyed creating this piece and it is now one of my favorites.

Art means the world to me. It expresses my feelings, keeps me busy and I’m actually good at it. My project really did not have a purpose or specific ending product. I started out with wire, than started beading it, and basically winding it the whole time with no specific goal. Once it started taking shape I liked how the design unfolded. I am not quite sure how a butterfly popped in my mind but it just seemed to fit. Overall it was a fun fulfilling project that tested my imagination skills. Cala Ritscke
