STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I have completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shaheed Udham Singh College of Engineering & Technology, Tangori, District Mohali, Punjab in year June, 2013. Since childhood, I have always wanted to be an Engineer especially a Mechanical Engineer as I have always had predilection and curiosity in automobiles and machines. This was the main reason that I opted for Mechanical Engineering so as to satiate my childhood desire. I have a great interest to pursue a competent job in the Mechanical Industrial environment as it holds a tremendous potential and this is the main reason that I want to go for Graduate studies. My undergraduate degree has given me quite an exposure to various subjects during the whole course that I found interesting namely- Machine Design, Dynamics & Drawing, CAD/CAM, Automotive Engineering, Heat Transfer and Applied Thermodynamics. I have maintained quite a decent academic record by achieving 76% aggregate marks in the Bachelor's degree. My undergraduate degree provided me the basic key concepts and knowledge of various subjects that I studied but I did not get extensive and in-depth knowledge of the field especially the recent global emerging trends, advanced applications and evolutions in Engineering. Now, It has goaded me to get extensive theoretical and practical knowledge and most importantly to know more about the industrial applications of engineering. Moreover, the MEng program has project phase and I have a strong belief that I can enhance my knowledge in more practical manner by giving myself an opportunity to acquire Master’s degree. I want to achieve Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an esteemed University and then I want to have a decent job in the core Mechanical field at a renowned Industry. I strongly believe that Master’s Degree would not only enhance my educational qualifications but it would also pave a better path to get better employment for me in Mechanical sector. I want to hone my intellectual ability and apply the practical knowledge acquired by getting Master's degree to solve engineering problems and also to contribute my part to Industrial development. I want to acquire more knowledge about the wider horizons of Engineering. I believe it will serve a direction to my goal of becoming a successful Mechanical Engineer. I intend to pursue Master's Degree in order to reach this goal.
