The Cradle Will Rock, which is set in Steeltown U.S.A, is about a young prostitute names Moll who gets thrown in jail when she refuses to accept money from a untrustworthy policeman that works for Mr.Mister, who owns most of the businesses in town. Some members of the Liberty Committee, who opposed the union, are also arrested because a policeman thought they were union organizers. While the committee members are trying to get Mr.Mister to free them, Harry Druggist befriends Moll and tells her how he lost his business because of Mr.Mister. Throughout the show, Reverend Salvation is convinced by Mr.Mister, to give lectures about World War I, that are convenient for the Steel Industry.
