At the high school level, Curry’s game started to reveal itself bit by bit, but there were still things to fix. Curry’s dad said that his shot was great but way too easy to block, so they spent the whole summer, after his freshman year, working on his shot. Steph’s dad took him to the goal that he grew up shooting on to work on his shot. This goal was a thick metal rim nailed to a telephone pole in the yard, and since the rim was so stiff and thick, you had to shoot perfectly to make it because that rim was not forgiving at all.. That summer, it was very frustrating for Curry, he would cry and consider quitting because his dad pushed him so hard that summer (Geswein). Curry and his dad went there every single day that summer to perfect his shot and when he returned to school for his sophomore year, his coach realized a huge difference from his freshman to sophomore year, “look at his shot, look at his pace, look at how he creates. There is an art to what this kid is doing on the court and there is a drive to be the absolute best” said his high school coach
