Weather a story is fiction or nonfiction it can be fun to read or watch. Yet the writer of the story does not need to experience anything that has happened in the story for it to be entertaining. There are many great fictions and great nonfiction stories written by people that haven’t seen or done anything that the story is about. Many examples of great stories that an author or writer has written and had never done the things included in the stories come from science fiction, horror, and war stories. Another example can be text books, there are many educational books that hold entertaining facts and stories yet the author never witnessed the civil war, the great depression, or many other historical events. There are many great horror books and movies out there. Stephen King is known for his great and iconic horror novels, and even though sometimes he is inspired by events that have happened to him he still writes stories that would be next to impossible to happen to a person in real life. The movie “Alien” written by Dan O’Bannon is an amazing movie about a group of people that were unknowingly sent by a corporation to bring a deadly alien back to Earth for military gain. A member of the crew finds a nest of eggs on a foreign planet and gets attacked by a creature that comes out of an egg. The creature attaches itself to the person’s face and impregnates him with the main alien of the movie. With the limitation in space travel today, let alone when the film was released in 1979, and the overall concept of the film it is easy to see that this never happened to Dan O’Bannon.
