Setting
The setting for this observation was in the hallway outside of the 3/4s room at ECDC-SMC. I was sitting on the floor across from her with her back facing the classroom and my back facing the entrance of ECDC from the Havican hallway. During the assessment, there was another girl doing an assessment but it did not seem to bother Stephina’s focus on the questions that I was asking her. In the middle of the assessment a class was in the hallway about to go outside. During this time Stephina did look at what the class was doing and where they were going. Is this marker longer, is this marker longer, or are they the same?” Her response to this question was “ This one is longer because you moved the other one so it’s shorter.” With this response she was referring to the marker that was closer to her as being the shorter one.
