Truth is the first thing needed to build a strong healthy relationship with anybody, but as the article states many women may not believe that way. “Self-protection is defined as the act of exhibiting behaviors intended to prevent oneself from being the victim of dating violence” (Cali 854). Self protection is away for women and men alike to protect themselves from online predators or murderers. This stigma may cause a woman to stay hesitant, to giving the person there dealing with any real personal information which then leads to lying, due to the fear they have of the person there interacting with online being who they really say they are.
