After reading Renegade Kids, Suburban Outlaws chapter ten Stoner Gangs and Satanic Youths, was a chapter I found interesting due to the section labeled running with the homeboys. The term stoner was thrown around quite a few times in the chapter, which is a term we hear still today. The term is still used to describe teens or youth who are avid users of weed who were constantly known as being stoned or under the influence. The only difference was now this term was used to describe anyone who uses weed but in the past the term meant teens who were involved in the anti Vietnam war movement and known as people who were dropping out and rather a nuisance and group of troubled individuals.
