Throughout the play she’s very dramatic in how she says things and how she doesn’t want to be in the light. She has to have the lights dimmed or she won’t go in that room or to that place. The reason for her doing that is she doesn’t want people to see how old she is but also I think for her the light is a way for people to see the real her, and to know the truth about all the lies she’s told.
