During an interview, participants can talk about their personal thoughts, feelings, and beliefs which can provide authentic understandings of their lives. Although interviews allow for authentic, it can also be untrue because the person being interviewed can lie during the interview. Furthermore, interviewing can be time-consuming which only allows for so many people to be interviews which couldn't really demonstrate enough information to represent a vast majority of the community.
Some advantages and disadvantages of conducting surveys is that it is quick and can provide a vast amount of data, reliability, and validity. Surveys can be distributed to a large number of people very quickly which does time and collects more data. The reliability insures uniformed questions being asked.
