Slaves had daily struggles which caused them to lose hope, even though they did try to maintain the fight for their individuality and freedoms. Slaves had daily struggles in the American South, which caused them to have a hard life.
A lot of slaves were split from their families and siblings.Slaves got up early everyday except Sunday, and mostly without any rest. It was really hard to not get any rest and to work nonstop. Education was not allowed for slaves; they either had to have someone teach them without anyone knowing, or they tried to learn from the white children when no one was around.
