I am grateful to have worked a full week during spring break. With all of the students gone, and work happening at a slower pace, I feel as if I was able to bond with the full-time staff in the office even more than I already had. Throughout my entire student affairs journey, I have been blessed with fantastic mentors. Working in University Scholarships is no different. My supervisor says she "always has time for me" and will take a break to discuss the job search, interview tips, or anything I'm feeling overwhelmed about. Not only do I feel like these women are my mentors, but I feel like they are my friends. They invite me out to lunch with them, drinks after work, and I feel like an important part of their lives. This means that I will have an instrumental part in creating the language of each scholarship on the student side of the system. My words and descriptions of the awards will be read by each individual student looking to apply for scholarships, which is cool! It's also a daunting project. There is going to be a lot of data entry into this new system, which is something I've never done before. I am also a little worried about the timing of the implementation (it takes around 120 days) since I'm graduating in less than 60 days. I understand that any work I can do to establish the foundation will be helpful, but I struggle with being a "key" player when I'm leaving in a few short weeks. My plan is to do as much work as I can before I need to leave and hope for the best. The office understands that it will take months to implement the system fully and that I won't be around to see the completion. I believe they are just grateful to have a new set of eyes and opinions while they have an intern in the
