Construct a student residence needs a different perspective of spatial distribution and to the structure of the residence. A special care need to be dispensed to the kitchen, which will be shared by the residents, in a way to guarantee a good space to work with an appropriate supply of utilities such as water, electricity, allowing an easy way to be clean and be kept clean.

In the student’s home kitchen, shown in the figures 1 and 2, the wall was covered with tile with taped joints enabling easy cleaning and prevents fungus’ growth, the cabinets and countertops were arranged providing good space between them for utensils and food prepare, furthermore were constructed with a smooth, hard, impervious and easy to clean material. The sink was well allocated near the preparation countertop providing a good flow from clean to dirty spaces, and is served with potable water in an adequate temperature in a sufficient quantity with a suitable drainage.
The kitchen was provided with a small fridge and a small freezer to be shared by the six residents, the result was a constantly overloaded fridge and freezer, what may represent a problem to maintain the stored food perfectly refrigerated, especially in the fridge, because of the high open frequency and overload of food, and should allow an easy way for growth of some bacteria. The others kitchen utensils, such as microwave, stove, toaster and kettle are made with clear, durable, resistant to corrosion and easy clean, all electric with its own socket avoiding and overload of the power grid and some electrical accident.

The whole premises was perfectly lighting, day and night, with lights turned on by a motion sensor, presents a good glass window that provides a good ventilation, which must not be unattended because it is not pest proofed and should not be forgot opened. However the door is self-closing and pest proofed, and also is fire resistant being used to isolate a possible fire
