Suburbanization is the trend of people moving out of the cities into the rural-urban sprawl. People living in the city were usually congested in apartments or condos but people moving into the suburbs were able to buy single family homes that provided them with more space. Life in the suburbs is better than in the city. “The education people receive is better quality, insurance and mortgage rates were cheaper, and the crime rates were less” (Kahn). Insurance and mortgage rates were cheaper because there was not as much crime to worry about in the suburbs like there was in the city.
