The history of immigration in the US dates back for long past as people from Europe began coming to US. Back in 1960s, the geographical sources of the migration in the US shifted to Latin America and Asia. Since this time the US has been known to a nation of migrants. Above all, many people come to the US because they believe that it is a land of affluence in a world filled with poverty. Here they will earn more than in their native land. Migrants’ presence is considered a threat by some native. This is because of the consequence of the migration. According to Brimelow, many native America believe the migrants erode their culture. He argues that although many migrants want to assimilate, their number are critical high that the US lack the ability to absorb everyone into its own slowly dissolving their way of life. Migration in the US is actually a helpful change where most America profit by sharing neighborhood in a multicultural society. Migration is a demonstration that the US acknowledges foreigners. One of the reasons why people oppose the idea of migration is that they trust the idea that migrants take away occupations which are meant to the Americans.
