In Maylei Blackwell, ¡Chicana Power!, chapter 3 and 4 she focuses on the loss of identity and the other factors that Chicanos were going through that lead them to the Chicano Movement. Most in depthly she discusses the untold story of the Chicana Women that were failed to be represented in their entirety. This calls to the way we view historic event often times were missing the women narrative. In the telling of the Chicano Movement it is important to talk about the Chicana feminist who contributed significantly, the amount work they inputted to the making of different organizations. These organizations like the East L.A. Welfare Rights Organization that brought awareness to the welfare women had and advocated for them. This is was significant
