E. Coli Infection at The Lookout As a communications lead at The Lookout, I know a public health scandal has significantly damaged the company's reputation. Customers have become ill from eating at several of our locations, where lettuce and spinach were infected with E. coli. The company is implementing strategies to improve restaurant sanitation, including more thorough training for new and current employees. We must keep our customers abreast of the situation to maintain a positive relationship. We must provide information about what we are doing to ensure the safety of our customers and employees, and how we plan to continue to serve them during this time. Internal Communication Strategies Face-to-Face Communication The first thing to do is to put the employees in the room with the leadership team. This will allow them to see firsthand how serious this problem is and what we are doing about it (Baccon, Elodie & Hamish 158). We need their trust and support for this company! They should listen carefully to management's explanation of how we plan to address these issues. They should ask questions if they have any concerns or questions about what is being done. These conversations will help build an environment of transparency between management and employees as we work together to address these issues. Email Lookout has developed a strong culture of communication and transparency, so we want to use Email as the primary form of communication.
