John Krakauers book “Missoula” is a very controversial topic that many college students know about but never speak of. I’m of course referring to rape. From this book I’m expecting to be informed about the current realities of sexuality in college. Specifically I will become informed about the prevalence of rape and the rape culture with college parties. I unfamiliar with the term acquaintance rape however if I had to guess, it would be rape from a person that is known by the victim. I perceive this text will be extremely controversial and that I will disagree with some of the themes in it for instance the notion that a man is a sex offender if they partake in sex with someone who consents but later claims they are drunk.
