Lauren Thomas “A day without an immigrant” explains to us what happened on May first 2006. A day without an immigrant was the day that boycotted and marched to demand that illegal immigrants living in the United States should get citizenship. On this day an estimate of 400,000 boycotters and protesters marched in Chicago and Los Angeles, about 30,000 in Florida as well as Houston and 50,000 in San Jose. Many people among the immigrant community marched which caused work for companies to be disrupted because the “illegal immigrants” are the ones taking the big important jobs, there was also 72,000 absences recorded in middle school and high school. This argument shows bias against the idea of a wall being built and against illegal immigrants
