Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, as we stand here today, we must recognize that laws are vital and serve a significant part in our society. They were meticulously designed to maintain order and ensure the well-being of all citizens, in order to keep us in line. They weren't made for nothing. Members of the jury, as you are aware, have a large framework of laws ranging from murder, trafficking, drugs, vehicle laws, and so on. These laws were made to keep us in check, and if you don't follow them, you get punished; innocent people also face consequences, which is exactly what happened in this case. Sam Smith violated the law, and Max Paulson faced the consequences.
