Elisa Fratello, 18, was recently found dead after she drives her mother’s car off a cliff and into the water. Officials could not get Fratello’s body out of the car because the car was pinned under dozens of rocks.
Unknown until now, students that attend the local high school in La Paloma challenge each other to jump off a cliff, which they call the Nail. This is the same cliff Fratello was found dead at. The Nail is approximately ninety feet above the ocean, a with black, opaque water, and rocks surrounding the shallowest part of the ocean. Recently, Sydney “Scooter” Navarro and Fratello jumped the Nail as a love pact, becoming the first duo to jump the Nail together.
