The theatre was a small box indoor type theatre. The audience was composed of a variety of people from young to old, mostly senior citizens. The costumes consisted of only changing shirts or blouses and every Act took place in the living room of the summer lake home.
The setting was a summer lake front home in Maine. Norman Thayer, Jr. (Edwin Slaten) opened the play wearing an old hat wondering around the living room as to be looking for something. On Golden Pond tells the deceptively simple tale of one family’s summer. This was their 48th summer at their New England country home.
