In America during the antebellum era, racial interactions were intricate and ingrained in the social structure. One well-known person who backed a specific strategy for resolving racial tensions was Henry Clay, a significant statesman and political figure in his era. To resolve the racial tensions that afflicted the country, Clay argued in favor of colonization.
