n the article, “Is Google Making Us Stupid,” Nicholas Carr explains how the internet is affecting our ability to focus on books and longer pieces of writing. I agree with Carr’s theory that human thinking capacity is deteriorating. The extent of agreement I have with Carr is relatively fleeting. His skepticism pertaining to the internet relieving us of “deep thinking” is somewhat excessive. Although there is no scientific evidence for Carr’s beliefs, the internet could possibly be shaping the way we think. The internet is causing us to use our minds less, lose the ability to think and focus, and change the way our brains comprehend information.
