In the case study called “ The Late Paper”, it describes a college student who fails a class because she turns in a paper late due to circumstances that are probably mostly under her control. Psychology Professor Freud made a term paper assignment that was due on the last day of the semester by noon, no extension and no exceptions. Kim, the main character in the case study is a student in the psychology class who has an A average in the class finishes her paper a day early. Kim’s husband, Arnold only has a high school diploma, he feels threatened by Kim’ education, particularly because of his coworker Philp tease him saying that Kim is going to hook up with a college guy. Because of Arnold’s issues he refuses to drive Kim to school so that she can turn in her paper she has to take the bus. While she is waiting on the bus her classmate Cindy pulls up and say’s “hey Kim a few of us are going out to celebrate do you want to join?” Kim decides to go to go with Cindy instead of turning her paper in. The next morning Kim wakes up after partying all night 30 minutes before she has to turn in her paper. She asks Arnold to take her but he refuses and also refuses to give her the car keys. As she is getting ready she calls Mary Professor Freud secretary to let her know that she will be late turning in her paper, Mary says ‘I think you will be fine turning your paper in a few minutes late”. Kim gets to the school 15 minutes after it was supposed to be turned in. When she tries to turn in the paper Professor Freud tells her that she will not be able to take the paper.
