Eli Hanson College English Mr. Millford 4-19-24 The Making of Multicultural America Reading Response In the introduction to his book, The Making of Multicultural America, Ronald Takaki utilizes the structure of his writing to help the reader organize and understand the topic that he is tackling. Starting, Takaki describes his experiences within a racially diverse America. By learning about the first-hand experiences Takaki had as a descendant of an Asian American immigrant, the author is given more credibility to the work he furthers later on. After this brief introduction, Takaki dives into seven different ethnic minority groups existing in the United States and gives an excerpt of their history with the nation. This way of structuring the
