The city of Santa Fe in the state of New Mexico had been under the Spanish colonial rule for two centuries. It is no wonder then that the Spaniards left a large influence in the way of life of the people of Santa Fe. These influences are manifested until now which serve as a reminder of the past and the important values and lessons that we can learn from.
The city’s name itself is a Spanish term which means holy faith. The full name of the city is “La Villa Real de la Santa Fe de San Francisco de Asis.” When translated, this means “The Royal Town of the Holy Faith of Saint Francis of Assisi.” The name speaks so much about religion.
