The Jewish legend is very powerful and very true in its own sense. It uses an ancient rabbi to make us realize that if we do not think of the person we are talking to as our own brother or sister we do not love them. I can not agree more with the legend. It reminds me of a personal experience I had when a new girl came to my elementary school. Her name was Nicole. She transferred in from a public school and she thought she was the most athletic girl in the school. I felt threatened and thought I needed to prove her wrong. I started not to like her. We both were not found of each other and people sense the competition between us. I thought of her as my enemy. I would of never called her a friend or someone I respected. Until one day, our teacher had enough of us and we had to sit down and discuss why we disliked each other. It came down to judging her without getting a chance to know her. I realized that I should put myself in her shoes and should have welcomed her. When I started to give her a chance I realized we had a lot in common. It is funny how life works because we are now really good close friends. One my teacher sat us down I started to see her as a sister. I realized we had more things in
