The poem The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost was about making choices.In his poem, The Traveler goes down one path instead of the other.This symbolizes going down one road in his life and not being able to take the other for a while.This proves that you have to make choices in your life.
In the beginning of the first stanza in Frost’s poem the traveler was deciding in which path to take in his life. In the text it says “sorry I could not traveler and travel both ,long I stood.” This means that the traveler had two choices in his life, and trying to pick which one to take in his life.Also in the text it says “ two roads diverged in a yellow wood.” This means that the traveler has two choices …show more content…
He came to the two paths and took the one with “wanted wear.” He chose this path because it was not taken a lot ,but both paths looked the same in the outcome. In the text it says “Then took the other, as just as fair, perhaps having the better claim.” This means choice he made may or may not have a good outcome n his life. In the third stanza of the poem it says “ I doubt if I shall ever come back.” This means that there was some obstacles he had to face while making his choices. This left the travelers angry and wondered if he should keep making the his choices ,and keep going down the same path in life.Also in the text it says “ oh , I kept the first for another day.” This means he went down the second path wondered if he shall ever go back that path again.
In the fourth paragraph it says “ I shall be telling this with a sigh.” The traveler feels relieved that his choices did not have a bad outcome in his life. When the traveler took the path less taken. It had a good outcome in his life.The theme of the poem is about making your own choice.
