She did not go to school until she was 11. Her two best friends were named Itka and Hava, but they both got killed by the Nazis. In 1959 she married a holocaust survivor from Poland. Her husband’s name was David Rozine. Sylvia had courage to run by the Nazis to grab a pear for her family to eat. One time Sylvia and her father had to dig a hole in a graveyard and hide in it, and if they were found, the Nazis would have been murdered. They did horrible things to the Jews. It was complete genocide. Nevertheless, her faith kept her going and she was able to keep going. Through it all, she knew God was still with her. Sylvia, her family, and some other Jews were sleeping in a secret room. Bombs started going off and Sylvia woke up. She got her dad and he woke everyone up and they got out of the hiding spot. She saved their lives. They ran into a field and the while the Russians were bombing the Nazis. One of the good soldiers saw their Star of David on their necks and stopped bombing. The soldier came down and saved them from the Nazis. Then the war ended. I think this book gives an accurate and honest account of Sylvia’s life. She told the author the story personally.
