A symbiotic relationship is a relationship in which two or more organisms derive a benefit from one another. In the Jarrah forest there are a lot of symbiotic relationships that occur between plants, animals, and fungi. The relationship between the Woyllie and the heartleaf poison shrub is example of a symbiotic relationship between plants and animals in the jarrah forest. The underground fungi grow better within the root system of seedlings in the presence of Woylie dung and the Heartleaf poison seedlings grow faster in the presence of the fungi. This shows how the Woylies could improve regeneration of heartleaf poison thickets. In return when the Woylies live around the areas that contain Heartleaf Poison, and feeds on them, they can be better protected from foxes and other predators since this plant is very toxic to them. Protecting the forest ecosystem from large scale disturbances have helped the Woylie by protecting it from natural disasters and occurrences that can make it extinct. By controlling the foxes, Woylies can escape predation and they have been seen again in some parts of the South-west. Two other ways we can conserve the diversity of life in the Jarrah forest is by controlling the bush fires and also controlling human activities in the forest. The bush fires can be very harmful to all kinds of life in the forest. It can have a very negative impact on the fungi, plants and even animals, by trying to control it or prevent it from happening as much as possible, it will be very beneficial to the diversity of life in the forest. Humans like to hunt animals and plants. Especially in a place like the Jarrah forest where there is truffle like fungi and even animals such as the Woylie. By limiting human activities in the forest we would be greatly helping its
