Many controversial topics have been discussed but, one of the most trending topics is the Syrian refugee crisis. The Syrian refugee crisis has become very important to many countries for many reasons like the fact that it has been considered one of the worst civil wars of time. Since opposing groups have begun rebelling against the government, a lot of violence has broken out. Yet, the top leading countries of the world still close the doors to this country in desperate need of help, without realizing that innocent lives are taken every day for unnecessary reasons. Now refugees seeking for help, has created a debate between social groups from different countries. Due to this crisis, immigration debate in the U.S has increased ever since. Many have thought about economic, political, social and legal issues related to immigration in the U.S. Within society groups, many have agreed and disagreed towards this issue, while thinking about the safety of others and the conflict that it may arise. Many countries try to stay out of this problem because they would have to deal with social issues such as sheltering people, creating jobs and benefits for the refugees. Countries such as the United States, Great Britain, etc. have restrained themselves from helping countries because they feel that their own safety would be at risk. (Donatiello, J. E) However, most of these harmless refugees have been forced out of their country because it is no longer a safe place to live. Now the main places that the refugees are currently located are Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan, the UK, and Iraq. Most of them live in refugee camps with unsanitary conditions and many people. During the year of 2011 the Syrian president began making new laws that affected their navy. It could save millions of lives seeking shelter in a better place. Our government needs to realize that these people mean no harm and that the only thing they are wanting to do is have a future for their children and themselves in a safe country. As the democratic candidates, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton state that, the U.S values freedom for their people and other countries. Also both candidates say that abandoning these refugees would be against any “humanitarian obligations”( Duignan, P). In addition, to helping because of “human values” the U.S should also help Syria because more than half of the residents in that country have been forced to flee to other countries or they have been forced to set up, “sprawling tent cities,”( Zetter, R). They have also given up rights such as, kids going to school, or men and women going to work etc, because they are in a constant fear of being harmed. Plus, it has been said by many great philosophers that every person has the right to freedom (Martin
